Special Collections. [Identification of item], Walnut Hill School Attendance Lists, 1851-1852, 92SC99,Library Special Collections and Archives, Kentucky Historical Society, Frankfort. This collection consists of two lists of student groups identified as part of the Walnut Hill School of Fayette County in 1851 and 1852. One item is entitled "List of the white roses." S. Y. Triplett was named as leader of that group. The sheet contains names of thirty-seven girls. On the reverse is noted "names of some of the girls who attended Dr. Joseph's School at Walnut Hill near Lexington." The other list names the "red roses." It contains thirty-six names. On the reverse is noted "names of some of the girls who attended Dr. Bullock's School at Walnut Hill near Lexington." One of the students' names is Lucy Forsythe, identified in a later note as daughter of Reverend William H. Forsythe.
