Governor Benjamin Harrison of the Commonwealth of Virginia issued and signed this land grant for 1000 acres in Lincoln County, Kentucky, to Thomas Paxton, March 1, 1781. Also in this group is an undated obituary clipped from an unidentified newspaper for Mary Ann Peers of Louisville. Peers died at the age of thirty from complications of childbirth. Her husband and five children survived her, the youngest being only five days old.
