South Frankfort was a community adjacent to Frankfort across the Kentucky River. The Kentucky General Assembly authorized the election of a five-member board of trustees in 1817. A legislative act annexed South Frankfort to Frankfort in 1850. The volume contains minutes kept of the meetings of the South Frankfort, Kentucky, Board of Trustees, from 1818 to 1850. The minutes reflect the board's work in tending the town's business. Subjects such as street repair, general road work, taxes, and payment for services rendered the town frequently appear. The first few pages of the minutes are apparently missing. The back of the volume contains some accounts for money received and paid by South Frankfort from 1818 to 1825.
