Ryan papers John E Ryan was the neighborhood representative for South Louisville from 1976-1978 and during this time he worked in the Louisville Mayor's Community Development office. In this position Ryan was active in many facets of local government. He handled complaints from residents, encouraged civic activity of southenders, and acted as liaison between the Mayor's office and the community. Ryan also assisted David Banks, Alderman for the Sixth District, in his fight to enact ordinances against the pornography district in the southern end of the city. Folder Listing I.
