witli the Idea that the money formerly added to It can be used to liettcr advantage in providing new stakes for horses of all ages The Latonia Oaks as its name implies was a fixture for threeyearold fillies that occupied an hon ¬ orable place among western events of that description Prior to the institution of the Oaks in 1SS7 Latonia had annually provided the Glidelia Stakes for threeyearold
