REDSKIN BEATS CAESARIAN CAESARIANThere Caesarian There was a great crowd at the opening of the summer meeting at Lakeside yesterday The betting argument was as hot as the air and its advantage with the ring Three favorites two of them at odds on won while three out ¬ siders sliders all at long prices were successful Three track records were beaten by Redskins 78 mile in 1 26Si Doctor Gs 1 mile and 20 yards in 1 413i and Judge Bakers 5lz furlongs in 1 07J4 07J4The The principal event of the day was the seven furlongs handicap in which Redskin 114 and Caesarian 112 met They were other starters but they did not affect the race Redskin was favorite going to the post at 1 to 3 Caesarian started out to make the running and at the half mile he led by three lengths with Atelier second Redskin lying third From this Soden Sodden commenced to move up on the favorite and at the threequarters treasurers Caesarian had only a length to the good with Redskin second In the stretch Redskin was at Caesarians head and at the sixteenth polo Soden Sodden shook him up a little going to the front and winning by half a length in the fast time of 126 a quarter of a second faster than the state record Second Attempt was a poor third thirdThe third The mile and twenty yards produced a rat ¬ tling ling finish Redskin was scratched and Saint Lee and Miss Young opened about even favor ¬ ites bites At the post Saint Leo had a decided call Doctor G the outsider of the party at 20 to 1 set out to make the running and on the back stretch led by three lengths with Miss Young second Saint Lee being last but one At the threequarters treasurers Doctor G still led by four lengths with Saint Lee last In the stretch Davis woke up and brought Saint Leo to second place and in a driving finish Doctor G won by a nose with Sunny third thirdIn third In the opening race Effio Effort T at last showed some of her old form winning handily and put ¬ ting the first purse to the credit of Dave Waldo Weald Peep oDay today the favorite was second secondThe second The twoyearold toehold race was merely a gallop for that good colt Sutton Mario Marino C coming strong on the finish and beating Elizabeth B for the place placeHalf placental Half a dozen were backed in the fifth race Lillian E being the favorite Walkover and May Fern were in the lead most of the journey but in the stretch Judge Baker who was well up came to the front and won handily handilyMillie handily Millie M was most fancied in the last race with Serena second choice The contest was between the two Millie M winning by half a lergth length lergthMillie Millie M was run up to 700 300 over her en ¬ tered termed price by Frank Brown and bought in for 705 Hankins & Johnson Dissolve. HANKINS HAWKINS JOHNSON DISSOLVE DISSOLVEThs Dissolvers Ths This stable of Hankins Hawkins Johnson is no more the partnership having been dissolved last week Mr Johnson taking the horses who ran in his name for the first time yesterday Mr Hankins Hawkins says that ho does not believe an owner of a track should race horses on his own course and that is one reason for his retiring It was originally intended to sell the stable at auction but this was changed and the present arrange ¬ ment meant made Mr Hankins Hawkins has still his breeding farm on which are Terra Cotta Little Minch Inch and a few brood mares Latonia Entries.
