This pamphlet, entitled "Hell in Harlan," is soliciting support for Harlan County, Kentucky miners on strike. This 1930s coal mining strike was nationally renowned for the violence, involvement of the allegedly communist National Miners’ Union (NMU), and federal investigation. 1931-1939

This item is from the Herndon J. Evans Collection, 1929-1982, located at the University of Kentucky. The creator is the Kentucky Miners’ Defense and Relief Conference, and the collector is Herndon J. Evans. The item was digitized in 2008.
