Jacob Burnet’s thoughts on Kentuckian character, based on his travel experiences, as expressed in an excerpt (pp. 335-339) from his article, "Notes on the Early Settlement of the Northwestern Territory." Burnet’s article was initially published in volume 65 of the North American Review, and later as a book. October 1847
