In 1915, Regret became the 1st filly to win the Kentucky Derby. It was not until 1980 when another filly, Genuine Risk, captured the Run for the Roses. Eight years later, Winning Colors took the Derby victory. The DRF online archive now includes coverage of Regret’s and Winning Colors’ historic Derby wins. Genuine Risk is forthcoming.

Coverage of the 1984 Breeders’ Cup is now available. Nov. 9-15, 1984 includes the press leading up to the inaugural running of the first seven BC races on Nov. 10. The first BC winners include Chief’s Crown, Outstandingly, Eillo, Royal Heroine, Princess Rooney, Lashkari and Wild Again. Use the calendar to locate Nov. 9-15, 1984. Pierre Bellocq, also known to the racing world as “Peb,” will be saluted at Keeneland on Oct. 15. During the day, Peb will sign autographs, and at 11:00, he will make a special announcement with Keeneland and the Daily Racing Form. Don’t miss this historic event!
