Scope and Content

This document is Blanton's description of a duel between Henry Clay and Humphrey Marshall in January, 1809 which Blanton says took place in Indiana. A postscript by Patrick U. Major, the apparent recipient of the statement, names Marshall's surgeon. Blanton apparently only dated and signed the document, which was written by someone else.
