This letter, dated July 20, 1838, was written by J.L. Mothershead of Indianapolis, Indiana, to Hannah Drake of Lexington, Kentucky, concerning receipt of taxes paid by Drake.
Mothershead may have been acting as an agent for Drake. The location of the land for which taxes were due is not given. The letter also bears the name of an alternate addressee, C.R. Thompson.
