Biography/History

Governor John Breathitt served in office from 1832-1834 as a Jacksonian Democrat. Originally from Virginia, Breathitt resided in Logan County, KY. His occupation was a Lawyer. John Breathitt was the only Democratic Governor elected in Kentucky between 1828 and 1850, facing an opposition majority in the legislature. Governor Breathitt died in office.
