. that Mr. Carmon Graham be elected a member of the faculty to serve ‘
from February 6, 1955 to May 51, 1955 and that he be paid at the
rate of $2,000.00 per calendar year for the time mentioned. The roll

Home Management House
Dr. Carr read to the Board Dr. Rainey T. Wells' letter in reference
I to the use of his home as a home management house during the present
semester. .
Motion was made by Judge Gardner, and seconded by Mr. Snook, that
. the letter be received, in which Mr. Wells refuses to allow the school
to use his residence for the home management house, and filed. This
$ motion was unanimously carried. · ·
Dr. Carr reported to the Board that arrangements had finally been
made to use the B. O. Langston house, just across the street from the
' campus, for a home management house from February 8, 1955 to April 8,
1955 at a rental of $50.00 per month.
Motion was made by Judge Gardner, and seconded by Mr. Snook, that
the action of the President and Business Manager in renting the house
for the use of the home economics department as a home management
house be approved. The roll was called upon the adoption of this
motion with the following result: Mrs. Mason, aye; Mr. Stokes, aye;
Mr. Snook, aye; Judge Gardner, aye; Mr. Richmond, aye.
Requests Concerning Debating, Annual and Entrance Examinations
Dr. Carr read to the Board the requests of the Executive Committee
for an appropriation not exceeding $100.00 for intercollegiate debating,
also for permission to charge an admission fee at two entertainments
to be sponsored by the annual staff to help finance the annual; and
the request of the Committee on Entrance, Credits, Certification and
Graduation that a fee be charged for entrance examinations when they
Q are repeated. Dr. Canr said that these requests were reasonable and
recommended that they be granted. ,
. Motion was made by Mr. Stokes, and seconded by Mrs. Mason, that
the recommendation of Dr. Carr with reference to appropriation of a
‘ sum not to exceed $100.00 for intercollegiate debating be approved.

- Motion was made by Mr. Stokes, and seconded by Mr. Richmond, that the
recommendation concerning the charging of fees for repeating entrance exam-
4 inations be accepted and approved. This motion was carried unanimously.
' Conference with State Auditor
Q’ Dr. Carr reported to the Board of Regents that he, Mr. Broach
» -and Mr. Ordway went to Frankfort a few days ago to confer with the
State Auditor in reference to the monthly statements furnished him.
He said that Mr. Richmond was there part of the time while they were
I in conference with the Auditor and that they had a very satisfactory
visit and Mr. Talbott seemed pleased with our report as submitted.
` Catalogge of Last Year To Be Qsed This gear
Dr. Carr reported that we-had a considerable number of catalogues
on hand and it was his opinion that we should use these instead of
publishing a new catalogue this year. Mr. Richmond and the other
members of the Board concurred in this opinion.
Report of Entrance, Credits, Certification and Graduation Committee
_ Dr. Carr, next, presented the report of the Committee on Entrance,
Credits, Certification and Graduation·and recommended that the degrees
