Maurice White (Afghanistan, 1974-1976; Education Program), who grew up in Massachusetts and went to college in Vermont, describes teaching English in Mazur-e-Sharif in Afghanistan. He talks about his teaching, his host family, and experiences he had because as a black person of mixed heritage he could pass as Afghan. He also discusses his life and educational background both before and after joining the Peace Corps, including working in Riyadh for Saudi Arabian Airlines and directing ESL programs at universities in Massachusetts, Guam, and at Morehead State University in Kentucky.
