Union soldier in 4th Ohio Cavalry. W.W. Worthington writes letters from Camp Gauley, Virginia, dated 16 October and 21 November 1861, describing army life and the prospect of battle. H.H. Porter writes on 21 Nov. 1862 from Camp Jefferson, Bacon Creek (Ky.), "15 miles from Buckners forces." Will Douglas writes from Greenfield on 7 January 1862, about his job as a salesman in the "dry goods trade." Card file in repository
