Dorothy Hart Drew was distantly related to Joel Hart and painted the portrait of Hart owned by the Kentucky Historical Society. Drew was connected to the Drew Chemical Corporation and later during the McCarthy era worked to rid America of Communist art and artists.
Correspondence to and from society portrait painter Dorothy Hart Drew. Letters give descriptions of some of Drew's paintings and some genealogy information on Hart, Edmonds, and Weaver families. The letters are remarkable for their almost complete lack of mention of WWII.
