Scope and Content

LCAS was apparently a Council-Volunteers staff-generated series of training documents. In general, these were designed to familiarize Volunteers with the cultural differences between their experiences and those of the people in local communities and to offer guidelines for achieving program goals.

These are general files on the LCAS program and copies of its training instruments used by the Council of the Southern Mountains and the Appalachian Volunteers.

A portion of the training instruments is copyrighted, while others are in unpublished manuscript form. There are many transcripts of sound recordings made at community meetings.

Unpublished inventory/register.
