Biography/History

Governor John J. Crittenden served in office from 1848-1850 as a Whig party affiliate. Originally from Woodford County, KY, Crittenden resided in Logan County. His occupation was a Lawyer. John J. Crittenden was active in national politics, serving 20 years in U.S. Senate. He resigned as Governor to become the U.S. Attorney General.
