Biography/History

Governor Charles A. Wickliffe served in office from 1839-1840 as a Whig Party affiliate. Originally from Nelson County, KY, Wickliffe continued to reside there, working as a Lawyer. Charles A. Wickliffe succeeded to office upon Clark's death. He later served as the U.S. Postmaster General.
