Scope and Content

Letters between various member of the Edwards family concerning events that took place at home and in the military, during the Civil War. The family had Confederate sympathies and at least three members fought on that side of the conflict. One son, William, died during the war. An account of the battle, his wound, and subsequent death was sent to his father, Thomas Edwards, by P. Stephenson, a family friend. The letters are in chronological order.
