Biography/History

The Crum family was originally from Eminence, Kentucky. G. S. Crum and Mary E. Crum Dale's father was J. Crum; they had four other siblings. G. S. Crum moved to California prior to 1870 to work as a farmer.

Scope and Content

Letters and a legal document comprise the Crum/Dale family papers and primarily document the family's relationship with G. S. Crum, a relative in California. G. S. Crum wrote the letters to his sister Mary E. Dale, his nephews, and his father J. Crum. The content of his letters describe his struggles as a farmer in California. The legal document is a 1902 copy of J. Crum's 1897 will.
