Handwritten on verso, "Silver Loving Cup and Blue Flame Oil stove won by Picadome rural school at the State Corn Show at Lexington, Fayette County Kentucky. The teacher Miss Belle McCubbing of Fayette County Ky. trained the class that won these prizes for the cheapest and best school lunch, and for the best soup made by the class after their own recipe."
