Biography/History

Governor Thomas Metcalfe served in office from 1828-1832 as a National Republican (Whig). Originally from Virginia, Metcalfe resided in Nicholas County, KY. His occupation was a Stonemason. Governor Metcalfe was a strong advocate of internal improvements. He later served in the State Senate and U.S. Senate.
