Marcia L. Owen was an avid collector of children's books. She corresponded with many authors and illustrators in the course of collecting. She was the friend of noted book collector, Irvin Kerlan.
This is a collection of correspondence, hand-drawn cards, sketches and illustrations, reviews, and articles related to Marcia L. Owen's collection of children's books. Among the authors and illustrators represented are Arnold Edwin Bare, John Mason Brown, Irvin Caesar, Wesley and Dorothy Dennis, Katherine Milhous, Charles L. Ripper, Leonard Weisgard, and Lili Cassel Wronker. Others include authors of non-children's books, Merle Colby and Edward Stanley. Some of the materials were collected by Irvin Kerlan. |b The collection also includes sketches from John Mason Brown's MORNING FACES, Wesley Dennis's HARLEQUIN HULLABALOO, and others. There are also galley proofs of Edward Stanley's THE ROCK CRIED OUT.
