Originally from Nelson County, KY, Morehead resided in Franklin County. His occupation was a Lawyer. Governor Morehead is noted for having the Geological Survey of KY completed. He enlarged and improved the State penitentiary. Morehead also began funding an annual State Fair to encourage agricultural production.
