Scope and Content
Bernard F. Veith was Comptroller for the City of Louisville from December 1, 1947 until November 30, 1975. The Comptroller is an elective office responsible mainly for auditing all monies recieved by the City through taxes, fines, fees, and rentals, as well as monitoring the disbursement of funds by various departments. The Comptroller reports to the Mayor any office that exceeds its budget. This scrapbook was compiled by Ms. Anastasia Faulstich, Clerk-Secretary to Mr. Veith. The scrapbook spans the years February, 1961 to November, 1969 and contains newspaper clippings on the activities of the Comptroller's office, as well as the general political scene. There are also a few photographs, a publication of the Louisville Fraternal Order of Police (August, 1963), and a series of newsletters reporting the economic progress of the city.
