Michael Doolan, shortstop for the Philadelphia Nationals, has to his credit in the records of 1908, 1909 and 1910 the imposing total of 904 put outs and 1403 assists. By his fielding average for 1910 he headed the shortstops in the National League. When he hits his specialty is two-baggers, of which he made thirty-one in 1910, and on August 5 of that year he hammered out three three-baggers in three times at bat.
