- Anne Braden was a white southern anti-racist activist, organizer and journalist from Louisville, Kentucky. In this interview, Braden discusses the ways in which she and Carl Braden constructed financial, political, and media alliances and systems of support for their pursuits of activism in the 50's and 60's. She also highlights the difference in personal methodology between she and Carl in their network-building and activism, or, rather, all the complexities that accompanied marriage to "a man and a movement". Braden talks about the process of movement-building, her involvement in and the organizational evolution of SCEF, the role of SCEF in Appalachia, the life and death of the Socialist Women's Caucus of Louisville and other personal efforts, as well as the myriad intersections of disparate movements during this time.
