The Ohio and Kentucky Railway Company of Lexington, owned by the Kentucky Block Cannel Coal Company, began construction of its line in 1899. The Jackson-Cannel City section was completed in 1901. The Railway ceased operation in 1933.
These deeds and contracts for right-of-way relate to the Company's construction of a railway between Jackson, Kentucky in Breathitt County and Cannel City, Kentucky in Morgan County.
Deeds and right-of-way contracts from the counties through which the railway ran (Breathitt, Wolfe, and Morgan) are present.
