This is a collection of original and copied documents such as wills, indentures, and legal papers collected by Walter S. Welsh, the owner of Welsh Printing Company in Lexington, Kentucky. Included are copies of the wills of Edward Topping (Crafton, England; 1647), Mary Offwood (Gislingham, England; 1749), and Robert Brett (Suffolk County, England; 1775). Also included are indentures of John Homer (Hoddesdonbury, England; 1729); of Frances Barker and John Miles relating to property in London (1730); between Charles Minshaw and John Tinslay (Crofton, Trent County, England; 1790); and a discharge of the indenture of John Roberts by William Freeman (London, England; 1682). Other documents include a deed for property in Virginia to Richard Toler (1825); an abstract of a title of Martin Brown Folkes (1725); a contract between John Shaftoe and Francis Radclyffe (Northumberland County, England; 1692); a document recording the sale of a license to have a cart, John Dolphin to John Flexmor (London, England; 1786); and the French death certificate of Guillaume Moulinier (1806). Condition of material: fair (acid damage).
