Scope and Content

Collection consists of three items. The first item is an 1847 land indenture. T.P. Atticus Bibb and John Jordan Crittenden Bibb sold land in Greenup County, Kentucky, to John L. and Joseph Gray. The land consisted of 97.59 acres which was 2/7 of the 1/3 inherited by Martha Tubb Bibb. The second item is a letter from Bibb to his sister. It is dated Russelville, April 18, 1860. the letter describes his failed law practice in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and the prices for room and board there. The last item is to Bibb from Thomas A. Hendrick of the General Land Office. It is dated February 21, 1867. It discusses a record search which Bibb initiated concerning land warrants issued between 1783 and 1809.
