Scope and Content

An enlisted Marine who sailed on the U.S.S. Louisville, 1931-1934. After his duty on the Louisville, Clemens became a Penn. state police officer and in the 1980s served as secretary-treasurer of the U.S.S. Louisville Reunion Association. Collection includes three 1930s personal scrapbooks relating to the Louisville; two volumes of compiled naval materials entitled "This and That;" a volume containing a "Naval Medal of Honor" index, 1861-1949; two volumes of miscellaneous naval material; numerous photocopies and clippings relating to the Louisville and the Navy; and folders concerning the Louisville's annual reunion, 1970-1972. There is also and oversized folder of Australian newspaper and other larger clippings relating to the vessel. Card index in repository
