Scope and Content

Confederate soldier. Papers include Green's parole from prison following the Civil War, 6 May 1865; announcement and letters concerning the Navy's World War I request for binoculars, telescopes, and spyglasses, including a letter signed by Franklin D. Roosevelt; a certificate of membership in the Confederate Association of Kentucky; a commission to Green as 1st Lieutenant, Co. B, Louisville Legion; and a 27 Aug. 1918 letter to Esther Ross of Prescott, Arizona, notifying her of her appointment as maid of honor to represent Green's brigade at the Confederate Reunion in Tulsa, Oklahoma
