This sixty-three item collection consists of letters, reports, deeds, and legal documents in both French and English. The collection pertains to the 56,000 acres of land that were surveyed by Philips and Young in 1785. The land was in Scott, Harrison, Owen, and Grant Counties in what is now Kentucky. The land was acquired by Victor du Pont de Nemours in its entirety. This collection chronoicles the history of the land and how other people obtained portions of it. A majority of the people with interest in the land lived in Guadeloupe, French West Indies. The people contributing to this collection were R. de Rezeville, Etienne de Bovis, Gustave Bouscaren, Victor Segond, W. Warren, Dureste Blanchet, and C. C. Moore. Included with the collection is a brief summary of the land transaction.
