Morgan, Thomas Hunt, Famous University of Kentucky Graduate (B.S.) in biology in 1886 and Master's of Science in 1888, In 1933 he received the Nobel Prize in Medicine, he was the first person to receive this prize with a non-medical degree, his work was in genetics and with the fruitfly, he discovered links between chromosomes and inherited traits, this picture was taken at the California Institute of Technology in his laboratory, he worked there from 1928-1941 when he retired, he is the nephew of the Confederate General John Hunt Morgan, Thomas Hunt Morgan was born in Lexington, Kentucky in 1866
