These photographic prints, negatives, slides, movies, and sound recordings relate to Appalachian Volunteers programs or activities.
Included are: miscellaneous photographs of Appalachian children, people, and scenes; photographs of eastern Kentucky schools; and Volunteers staff work on school buildings and school buses; photographs of Volunteers (2 x 3 prints; 1966); photographs (8 x 10 prints) documenting Robert F. Kennedy's visit to Appalachia in 1968; a slide presentation on the Community Action Program; an NBC film print (16 mm) of a Huntley-Brinkley program entitled "Kentucky Books;" audiotapes of community meetings; recordings of Volunteers training sessions and conferences; copies of tapes produced by National Educational Television and Radio Center for a program titled "Sounds of Poverty;" and other materials.
