Biography/History

Governor James B. McCreary served in office from 1875 - 1879 as a Democratic Party affiliate. Originally from Madison County, KY, McCreary continued to reside in that county. James B. McCreary's occupation was a Lawyer, and he was a Confederate veteran. He served in the U.S. Congress beginning in 1885, and was elected Governor again in 1911.
