Biography/History

Governor John L. Helm served in office from 1850-1851 as a Wig party affiliate. Originally from Hardin County, KY, Helm remained a resident of that county. His occupation was a Lawyer. John L. Helm succeeded to office upon Crittenden's resignation. He was elected in his own right in 1867 as a Democrat.
