This group contains an exchange note on the Continental Land Office of Pennsylvania for $600 (with rates for other currencies listed) endorsed by Thomas Barclay. Barclay was a business partner of James Moylan in a commercial house in L'Orient [now Lorient, France), known as Barclay, Moylan and Company. Barclay was also possibly an U.S. diplomat during the American Revolution and engaged in business dealings with Dr. Hugh Shiell.
