Scope and Content

This is a personal note written October 28, 1833, by John Wells to his brother Haden Wells of Shelby County, Kentucky. John Wells sent the letter in care of G. Collier, who had stopped at his home to warm himself. The letter once enclosed some other unspecified papers no longer present. John referred to an earlier letter he had written to John Stone, which he hoped his brother had seen, there "discover my afflictions."
