Biography/History

Governor John Larue Helm served briefly in office in 1867 as a Democratic Party affiliate. Originally from Hardin County, Helm continued to reside in that county. His occupation was a Lawyer. John Larue Helm became ill during the election campaign, and then died five days after inauguration.
